On November 18, 2024, an information event about the planned Green Energy 3000 agrivoltaic plant took place as part of the residents' meeting in the municipality of Schmalfeld (Schleswig-Holstein, Germany). More than 80 interested residents accepted the invitation to the village community hall in Hirten-Deelto find out more about the innovative project and to clarify any openquestions.

Green Energy 3000 is planning several agrivoltaic plants in the municipality of Schmalfeld in Schleswig-Holstein (Germany), covering an area of around 80 hectares and with atargeted output of around 65 MWp. The innovative plants enable dual use: they combine electricity production with agricultural land use, for example through grassland farming and grazing. In addition to clean and emission-free energy generation, the project offers economic advantages for the community, as up to 0.2 cents per kilowatt hour fed into the grid can flow into the community coffers in accordance with § 6 of the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) in 2023. In addition, local value creation is also promoted during implementation by commissioning local service providers. For farmers, the plants open up new and calculable sources of income through the multiple use of their land and secure rental income for 20 to 30 years. As part of a citizen participation program, local residents should also be able to benefit from the plant.

Dialogue with the community

During the information event, the residents asked numerous questions, including about the opportunities for public participation, the compensatory measures and the advantages for the community. Green Energy 3000 emphasized the open dialogue with the community and its commitment to a minimally invasive planning process that respects and protects the landscape.

Long-term planning and contractually secured deconstruction

The long-term commitment of the project developer was also emphasized: At the end of the lease period (approx. 20-30 years), Green Energy 3000 will take over the deconstruction of the turbines and restore the site to its original condition, unless the municipality wishes to make alternative use of it. The deconstruction is already planned and contractually secured in the approvalprocess.

Next steps in close consultation with the municipal council

The information evening laid an important foundation for further planning and implementation. In the coming months, Green Energy 3000 will work closely with the local council to drive forward the next planning steps in order to successfully implement the project in the interests of the community and the environment.

Green Energy 3000 sees Schmalfeld as a promising model for sustainable energy generation and local value creation. "We are delighted with the great interest and constructive questions from the residents. Our aim is to shape a sustainable future with these agrivoltaic systems," emphasizes project manager Florian Knaack.
